Working since 2008 in Portugal, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Guinea Bissau, the Helpo Association is a Non-Governmental Organization for Development (NGDO) focused on education and nutrition.

Helpo reaches more than 19,000 children and funds its activities through the Children's Distance Sponsorship Program, free donations and projects funded by international agencies and companies.

In 2018/19 the Galp Foundation and Galp in partnership with Helpo will support the development of education projects in Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe and Portugal. The Foundation believes that Education is the basis of a sustainable society and taking into account the context of the communities where Galp is present, supports projects that aim to:

• Ensure inclusive and equitable education;
• Combat absenteeism at schools;
• Promote lifelong learning opportunities for all;
• Achieve gender equality;
• Recognise the merit of children and young people who challenge each other to learn more and contribute to the development of their community.
