Emergency mission following cyclone Idai

In March 2019, Cyclone Idai devastated the Beira region of Mozambique. The country declared that 2 million people were affected by the cyclone, having lost their homes. Many of these affected were children.

Galp Foundation joined HELPO in the emergency mission in maternal and child nutrition. The collection of goods, that took place across Portugal and in Madrid, included baby and child clothes, cloth diapers, blankets, soap, dairy and non-dairy flours, easy opening canned goods, cookies and other non-perishable goods.

Furthermore, considering the disaster situation the country went through, Galp Foundation also joined the Mozambican Red Cross for humanitarian support in essential goods worth €150,000. Simultaneously, Galp mobilised its employees to collect essential goods, identified by the Red Cross.
