Energy Route

The collaboration protocol signed between ADENE, the Galp Foundation and four other companies in the energy sector aims to promote energy literacy.

Overview

Decoding energy information and making it accessible. This is the primary goal of Energy Route (Rota da Energia), an ADENE initiative that brings knowledge about the world of energy to citizens, schools, companies and technicians across the country.

It was within the scope of the Energy Route that the Galp Foundation and ADENE signed a collaboration protocol, which was also joined by four companies in the energy sector (E-REDES, Endesa, Iberdrola and Repsol).

Through training, information and awareness-raising sessions, the initiative promotes energy literacy, instigating the desire to learn more about energy and understand the role of each person in building a more sustainable world.

An initiative that decodes energy information and makes it accessible

Objectives and commitment

The objectives of the Energy Route include:

  • Involving society, focusing on education, training, information and awareness-raising, helping to increase individual and collective action through changes in behaviour and lifestyle
  • Disseminating the importance of decarbonisation issues
  • Deepening knowledge on climate change mitigation, disseminating good practices and boosting low-carbon behaviour in society
  • Promoting training for the energy and water efficiency sector
  • Fighting energy poverty

The Galp Foundation is therefore committed to collaborating in the organisation of training initiatives aimed at citizens, schools, companies and municipal technicians in the main Galp strategic communities.

This is yet another initiative where Galp volunteers will be able to take their energy to the communities, in particular: Sines, Santiago do Cacém, Odemira, Grândola and Greater Lisbon.
